Ok, I have been playing for 6 years and now I picked up my guitar earlier tonight and all of a sudden my pinky was wailing out of control and messing up my fretting hand and totally throwing me off. Am I going crazy? Any ideas? I can't even seem to remember where my pinky was placed. Help!!

Dont over think it, take a rest like Farether says. For a complex task such as playing guitar, much movement is according to the sound you want the guitar to make, and works on finger "memory" as how to play it. More often than not, song are too fast for us to consciously think "Ok, time to change to fret 2, 3rd string" all the time.

Do some warm up before playing. It helps for me.
