I find myself drinking alot more of this heavenly substance and found the following the best:

Johnnie Walker - Red label (with a good expensive cigar)
Jack Daniels

So pit, what's your favorite whiskey? if you have any

10 year Talisker.

It's beautiful.

12 year Laphroaig's also worth a taste.

But I got totally screwed off of the stuff. I can't actually swallow it anymore even if it's in my mouth, I have to spit it out.

I'm really not a whiskey fan in all honesty, but Yukon Jack's is pretty tasty as far as that goes and it gives me a nice, somewhat happy buzz. I am a rum (Captain Morgan Special Stock) and vodka (Cherry Three Olive's) fanatic, so I won't do any bashing. Crown Royal is always good, but in my opinion overpriced.

I got round to checking the bottle in cupboard that I've been working through. It's Aberlour scotch, single malt, 10 years.

I'm not a big whisky drinker, so I don't go buying bottles of the stuff, which means if I do end up on the whisky its usually Whyte and Mackay, as most pubs in Glasgow have it and its cheapish. And unless you're female don't mix your whiskey with coke, I'd rather piss in a pint of tennents and down it than have a JD and coke, which seems to be the 'cool' drink if you're 17. God only knows why.

Never had it.

I thought the only things people really mixed with coke were bacardi or vodka.

It's because the coke takes the kick out the whiskey, making it more paletable for children.

You're a man of true words
I'm 17 though, never had and never will mix JD with coke
That's like slapping god in the face

Keep in mind that drinking is legal in the netherlands from age 16 and heavier alcoholics from age of 18.

If I can afford it I drink Jack Daniels, simply because it just has this thing about itself which makes it nicer and all the more pleasurable to drink.
Glenfiddich is amazing too, but I never buy it due to it's price; I only ever drink someone else's. I'd like to think I'm a whiskey connoisseur, but I'm not really
And to the guy who moaned about mixing whiskey with coke, why not? For most people I know whiskey is far too strong to just drink by itself, and when it's watered down you get a different taste and texture, plus a drink that lasts longer.
Just because we aren't all super cool hardcore alcohol drinker's like you doesn't mean that watering down whiskey is an insult.

Personally I think whisky tastes rank mixed with coke, too much sugar. I don't like my drinks to be sweet. What I'm getting at is you get all these people who buy JD for the image/to be cool, and think they're ace cos they're drinking a 'rock stars' drink, which is bad enough as it is, but then to mix it with coke... Although, yes, you're right its a matter of taste, but I still think its daft

Mix it with Diet Coke then
That way you get drunk quickly and it doesn't taste as sweet.

I find that Laphroaig tastes almost medicinal; it tastes how I imagine a plaster would taste.

Personally, I'm partial to an older malt, such as Talisker's 18 year old, or Dalwhinnie's 15 year old.

In a pub, however, I'll stick to Glenfiddich.

I used to know my Scotch but I don't drink the stuff any more. Now and again I'll drink some cheap blended stuff like J&B or Bells or some American crap like JD or Jim Bean. I used to like Glenfiddich, Fettercairn, that sort of thing.

Oh yes.

Our guitarist got a bottle from his Dad as a gift from a trip.
We were swigging away the night at a party, and alas, it ran out.
I needed booze, so there was a guy with Red Label and he was just giving it away (I wonder why?).

I took one swig and it tasted like petrol in comparison.

EDIT: Man, the flow of that first line is killer. I should write a rap.

I don't go for quite such old malts, as I'm too cheap!

The Dalwhinnie is nice though. A pub near me stocks loads of ace Scotchs for the price of a pint, so that's quite cool!

I have me quite a few whisky bottles knocking around. Favourite being Glen Cairn. So nice. The related whisky liquer is f*cking gorgeous as well- made with honey and sloe berries. I have this black whisky back in Lincoln that was made with liqourice. Never drank it, as I hate liquorice
