I just got a new mac 2 days ago, and i go to turn it on now and no sound will come out of it-not from itunes, garage band, etc--not through the speakers or through headphones.
its not on mute and i checked the sound settings and everything seems to be rite

anybody know whats wrong or how to fix this?

thanks alot

um.. question, when u turn the volume up, can u hear a sound to tell u how loud it is?

wow you guys are assholes with him. macs are awesome. congrats on your purchase. (no, i'm not a fan boy, they're just great computers, and i'm not gonna argue with some other losers)

umm... TS: System Preferences--->Sound----->select internal speakers----> uncheck mute if its muted.... otherwise, just take it to your local apple store. since apple has great customer service, i'm sure they'll gladly replace it.

ive tried turning the volume to its max---on garage band rite now on the midi keyboard (the one that pops up as soon as you open the app) shows that its working (the levels are going up and down respectivley), but theres still no sound whatsoever coming from the speakers or thru headphones

I'm sure you'll get better answers if you call or post at the Apple support forum.
