What are some handy things to have on a rack? I've been thinking about building one, and all i've got so far for ideas are : A tuner, A compressor, A power Conditioner, and an equalizer....what else is there really? (other than an effects processor)

Oh dude, that looks badass, it adds true bypass to any effect, that would be pretty damn handy! I'll add it to my wishlist.

Hey, in your sig it says you have a sonic maximizer, how do those things sound? I might get one when I get my Mesa.

Depends on the type of Sonic Maximizer, some work well with Mesa, some don't. It's difficult to say how it sounds really, technically it alters the signal frequencies so they arrive at the speaker at the same time. They can boost the low end and tighten up the sound.

You should ask around tho which maximizers work well with your Mesa.

a place for a small flashlight. Velcro it somewhere handy... you will need it,

Cable that you can cut custom lengths of, and lots of wire ties.

And with that GCX audio switcher you should look into getting a Digital Music Corp Ground Control Pro

Your crappy amp achieved a purposely crappy tone? I'll alert the presses.

You'll probably want a preamp and a power amp.

Not needed; he already owns a good enough amp (the JCM in his sig) so he can just add a rack to it and be happy

Unless I'm mistaken, that Marshall contains a preamp and a power amp.

That's the point; he just uses the effects loop on his JCM and puts the rack unit in there, you don't have to have a rack-pre and a rack power-amp.

So what multi-effects are you looking at? I only hear praise for the G-Major, haven't played but I've heard the GT Pro live, sounded quite good too.

Exactly. It's a necessity for him to have a preamp and a power amp, and the Marshall is just that. However, he never mentioned that he would be using the Marshall, so I brought up the point that he would need some sort of amplifier when using the rack.

Oh, right, fair enough; I assumed you meant external to the marshall
