I know its been done before, but a new one can't hurt can it?

So, what are your favourite scales/modes when playing? I like the Natural minor, harmonic minor and the lydian mode is fun to screw around with too.

I like the searchbarlulz scale, it's pretty heavy. If your into the softer stuff try the icumblood scale.

Haha seriously though, I use the Aeolian, Harmonic Minor, Minor Pentatonic (who doesn't), and a small amount of the diminished.

Harmonic minor and diminished are my old standbys. I catch myself playing a lot of phrygian as well. Chromatics can be fun when used in moderation. It just depends on my mood.

No worries, its all Zakk Wylde knows.

Minor pentatonic, Natural Minor, Dorian.

and for just messing about with no backing track I'm starting to like the whole tone scale. Just for noodling about though, not in songs.

EDIT: oh and the blues scale, I suppose but I usually don't think of it as the blues scale as I add a lot of passing and outside notes to the minor pentatonic anyway so I just tend to think of it like that.
