I want to replace the pickups on my parker, because they sound a little muddy to me.
This guitar is my drop D guitar for my band, and we do a lot of classic metal/ hard rock covers and things of the like. But we also do modern metal covers, and even classic rock.
As you can see we're a bit eclectic. What we play really depends on how are audience is feeling. If they respond to so and so well, we will play similar stuff.

ex.
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Megadeth
pantera
Zeppelin
Aerosmith
COB
All That Remains
Slayer
As I lay Dying
SRV (Not hard rock or metal but i use my strat for this)
Hendrix (Strat again)
Clapton (Strat)

Well, if you dont like muddy, you could try some Evo's.

well if you are doing a boat load of drop tunings, the Dimarzio D sonic is your best friend, it's made for drop D and lower frequencies while still retaining its cut through the mix, reducing muddiness. The Evolution is also good for that but not at frequencies below D, it's more made for standard tuning but can handle drop D. I find the EMG's are good for drop tunings as well as long as you do an 18 volt mod on your circuit

EDIT: After review of the play, For your band list that you cover, I'd go Dimarzio Evolution in the bridge and a Dimarzio PAF pro in the neck, what amp are you using?

Thank you surge666

Your problem is the amp, not the Guitar. Even the cheaper Parker guitars have excellent clarity and punch. You are trying to play metal and hard rock through a very low gain blues amp. I have the BDRI, and I love it, but you CANNOT (even with the best pedals) get a decent distortion tone out of it. The amp has a very powerful midrange and a 12" speaker designed to emphasize this further. Go buy a new amp.

And I'd rather not get EMG's, i don't feel like bothering with the routing.

yeah, you need an amp with a bit more gain and headroom. The hot rod has some headroom but you need more, and more gain. New pickups will help, but ultimately it is your amp that needs upgrades.

Half the time I'm also using the distortion on the cube 60.

But as for a metal tube,

what would you recommend?

You don't need to route EMG's they bolt right up, but for your cover list, i don't recommend them. They are great for the heavy's and can pull off the other stuff in a good way, but they are mostly for the heavy stuff. Nothing against them, I use them myself when appropriate.

lol what's your budget?

I'm a Carvin man myself but my style is more of an early Maiden, early Ozzy style, just crossing the line on high gain

Got a budget in mind? Peavey 5250 or JSX are the most commonly recommended in "lower" range. Then most tube Marshall's fall somewhere in the next tier. If budget is no problem, Soldano SLO series of Bogner Ecstasy

You can get a Carvin V3 high gain monster head under that, it's 899.99 before shipping and can pull off mad metal or subtle things as well, very versatile amp! Check out www.carvin.com They sell direct from the factory to make things cheaper and they make an extremely quality amp, but like I said, I am a Carvin man, check out other things like a used Peavey 5150 or XXX, maybe a Used Marshall JCM, they all sound different, you just gotta pick what you like! I use a vintage Carvin X100B and it fits me, go taste the rainbow! Check every amp out you can!
RULE: A crappy guitar sounds good out of a great amp, a great guitar sounds crap out of a crap amp!
