Try a bunch of strings and see what you like. There aren't specific strings for genres. Some are better suited for certain genres though.

I like Dean Markley strings and Elixirs.

I love DR strings. Totally personal preference. I would suggest sticking to 11's + though.

Now running an Eleven Rack with Pro Tools 10.3.3 - it's amazing and I'm having ball with it - worth every penny. PT 10 is tops IMO and the Eleven Rack is a work of art!

It really doesn't matter in the slightest, just buy whichever strings have the prettiest packet in a gauge you're comfortable with.
