I've got some funds saved up and I'm finally going to get a nice amp, I'm looking to buy used, and my budget is almost 2 grand.

I play from classic to rock to trash, no heavier then that, most artists I play are Metallica, Megadeth, Van Halen, Guns 'n Roses, Velvet Revolver, Alter Bridge. I HAVE to have cleans, not amazing but not cheap either. It has to have a foot switch and I would rather have a stack then a combo, no it's not my first half stack, I know it's a pain to carry, yadda yadda.

I really wanted to get a JCM800 2205 (2 channel model), but you can barely ever see them on ebay, so I want to know an alternative instead of getting the JCM.

If you like British high gain, I'd look into something like the Orange Rockerverb.

Wouldn't I need to put a decent distortion pedal in front of it to get a better sound? If so I would not go with that, I hate the thin artificial sound of a Distortion pedal.

Yeah they do, but only the one channel ones, and I'm now sure I'd go with a clone.

That's why I wanted one used from the 80s, but no one sells the two channel ones anymore these days.

ENGL Powerball, or Peavey JSX.

They are both the sex I own the JSX, and admire it's versatility. It takes a while to get used to setting the Crunch channel correctly for a good chunky tone, though. From what I've observed via Youtube, the Powerball is also pretty versatile. Or maybe an Invader...

Nice budget.

Look for an H&K Duotone. Goes for ~1400. Then an Avatar cab.

Here's how it sounds.

Yup....I love H&K's amps. A Duotone and a Triamp mk1 have been on my gas list for a few years now. And now that I got a better paying job, the triamp should be mine be christmas.

WOW. Both the amp and those players were stunning. Thanks for posting. I was going to bring up the 5150 III too as an all around do everything great amp but like I said I'm out of my league here. That first guy on Clean clip was espicially good imo.
