so ive been playing for about 4-5 years now, and for the majority of the time i always played sitting in a chair or on a stool,

and now that im in a band i play standing up, and i found it very difficult at first, but once i got my strap adjusted correctly it wasnt as hard to play

anyways now i try to practice playing while standing as much as possible so i feel more comfortable on stage.

did any of you have that same problem when you started to gig???

and do you guys practice while standing??

lol, do you play in a band??
or just at home?

cause i dont think i could ever play a show without a strap, lolz

I always sit down, because if you want to get better at playing, it's the only way to get really practicing done. When the time comes that I have the song down, i'll play standing, but only if I've already got the song down.

I have a V.
I'm sure you know how I practice.

Whenever I sit, however, I always play in the classical position. It's becoming a habit with regular shapes too.

Just at home, I've played with a strap before and I failed so hard. I was in front of liek 3 other guitarists aswell.

I was like "Uhh, I need to sit down..."

i haven't started to gig and i'm not even in a band, but i have found standing up hard to do cuz i've been playing sitting down most of my life due to laziness. my biggest problem was learning to keep the guitar at the correct angle because of the different picking angle, but i solved that by learning to hold the pick better and bend my thumb back.

depends on what I'm playing
if it's slower/acoustic song I sit
if it's faster, I stand
basically whatever feel more comfortable for me when I strum

This describes my position pretty well. I stopped using a foot rest.

Also, I posted the picture because Milica Ilic is a slammin' hottie.

I play sitting down when I practice and when I gig. But I only do the acoustic solo stuff. Once I get a full band together then yeah, I'll play standing up, but its not really hard for me either way.
#21
I do both. I do metronome stuff sitting down in the computer chair, and generally I practice songs standing up. I do the majority of my writing standing up. It's a much easier adjustment if you wear your guitar as high as I do, though. It's much more comfortable with the guitar up higher.

I practice sitting most of the time. I play standing, but when it comes to acoustic songs, it's great to sit and enjoy.

I snapped my high E once and sliced my finger open, so I can only assume snapping the low E would put me into a coma or something.

That looks so much more comfortable than with a foot rest.
