Wrong. Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon and The Wall go either or so they don't count.

Same goes with Led Zeppelin's IV and physical graffiti

As for Beatles, it's one of their more revolutionary album but really Abbey Road, White Album, Revolver, and a few others goes either or as well.

I'm sure you just told him his opinion is wrong...

'Best album' is subjective so unless there's a band where somehow everyone agrees all their albums are rubbish or completely amazing, this thread's just gonna end in people naming bands and others naming their favourite album by said band

Biffy Clyro absolutely no-one knows which one is the best coz it sure as hell isn't puzzle.
What about linkin park lol

I don't know. Linkin Park never made a genuine classic album, I never hear people cite a certain album they have as their best by a multitude of people...although I could be wrong.

Elbow, Opeth, Amon Amarth, The Who, Queens of the Stone Age, Dream Theater.

^Bands on which there isn't a general consensus on their 'best' album, only a selection of favourites.

It's Ride the Lightning, actually.

My point is that Metallica's a retarded choice, because of the millions of people who will instantly say MOP is their best album. Not actually claiming it myself

You're wrong. This thread is meant to show bands where, critics, magazines, a general consensus of their fanbase doesn't choose album "___" as their best effort, as in they made more than album that's just as popular/good. Whether you agree with it or not critics and fans and what not cite certain albums as their "trademark" album or whatever.

What you're doing here is confusing your opinion with that of the media and the general population.

No, you have a general missunderstanding of what the media and the general fanbase thinks.

Believe me when I say this, The Wall and Dark Side goes either or. Same thing with Zep's Iv and Physical Graffitti. And Especially for the beatles.

I was joking about linkin park in no way have they ever come close to making a classic album and now that they collab'd with busta ryhmes they must die. QOTSA made rated r.

And Songs for the Deaf. And Lullabies. And Era Vulgaris. All of which are hailed as 'best' by everyone, mostly because they all have a different style which appeals to different people.

I can vouch at least the Georgia area that Dark Side is definitely considered Pink Floyd's "best album."

I'd say Dream Theater. They have a wide range of stuff, and each album is quality in itself. People cite favourite albums of theirs, but there is no combined agreement of which album is their best.

I think this might be farfetched, but I suppose that Radiohead can be in that group too.

There are the folks that Love The Bends, people that worship OK Computer, and people who would kill for "Hail to the Thief"

I'm a Bends fan myself.

I suppose that, the White Stripes are like that too, their albums are sameish, but the mood is always different.

I would try and say Pearl Jam, but I'll be raped by people saying "Ten".

you do realise that they' are both your opinions? it's quite stupid of you to assume you know the collective opinions of each band's general fanbase.
