I was at GC yesterday and, while playing a MIA strat i discovered a push-button switch on the volume pot. I push it, and it *slightly* modifies the tone. Maybe it wasn't wired right or something, but what EXACTLY does it do?

It pretty much just gives you different combos of pickups and parallel wirings and stuff. I have one on my american strat, but I don't use it much.

i think it is used to make it sound like a telecaster. the switch on my p bass like that makes my bass sound like a jazz bass. it won't sound perfectly like a tele but it'll atleast get you close.

Well then it switches the pickups from parallel to serial. It should increase output volume slightly and give a fatter tone, but I haven't tried it on a strat.
