rite now, i have an ibz10 amp, and i hate it. the distortion on it is like fuzz. and so im saving up for a tube combo amp (which isn't to be discussed in this particular thread) like a randall or a mesa or apeavey or something, but in the meanwhile i'm sick of my current amp. and as i w8 to have enough money to get a nice amp, should i get a 15 watt spider to replace the ibz10? so i just wanna know if trading up to the spider III would be worth paying the extra money. and also, does anybody know how much a guitar store would pay for my ibz10 amp?

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

No spiders.
Guitar shops are unlikely to buy crappy starter prac amps
I would say try a small valve amp, a peavey royal 8 would be pretty great.

If not, look at the small laney amps, the epi VJ and the vox valvetronix series.

I assume, the vox ad15vt would be great for what you want.

^ This. Or maybe consider a Roland Micro Cube, they're good quality and not too expensive for what you get.

Just keep sticking it out with your current amp. Keep saving and get the amp you really want. You'll be kicking yourself when you can almost afford the amp you want but are short the amount you spent on the spider.
AMP:
5150 combo
GSP1101 + Tech 21 PE60

GUITARS:
ESP LTD M-255 w/ SD Full Shred
Kramer Vanguard w/ JE-1000 active preamp
Douglas WF-150sn w/ GFS "Hot Lead" set

EFFECTS:
Bos SD-1 (boost)
AMT DT-2

If you must get an upgrade amp, without going all out for a tube combo...

Roland Microcube

It has great tone for a practice amp, very portable, and priced well.
