So, yeah, has a video game ever made you cry?

Warning, possible spoilers...?!

Just saying this as replaying Metal Gear Solid 4 over and over again, it's difficult not to get upset, especially revisiting shadow moses, or meeting big boss.

In fact, MGS, MGS2, MGS3 and MGS4 have all made me really emotional, MGS2 just feeling really sad, MGS3 shedding a few tears, but MGS4 was difficult to not shed many, many tears. I can't even listen to the soundtracks on my MP3 player without being overwhelmed by emotion (and listening to soundtrack from older games makes me remember the newer games, and how everything has ended up, etc.)

There should be a poll up as well if it worked.

So, post what made you emotional during a game.

Do tears of rage count?

No. Tears of sadness. Maybe a sense of happiness during sadness.

So no storyline has ever really got to someone?

EDIT: 4 vs 19. I'm always in the minority.

YOU'RE a slang for a camel's foreskin. And nope I haven't spouted liquid from my ocular devices as a consequence of partaking in a game of video.

When Aeris died the first time I didn't like her so it was OK, but when I replayed it I stopped at the Temple of ancients so I wouldn't cry =[

Never. In the end, it's just a game, it's supposed to be fun.

But the storyline can be moving, bring back memories, bring back emotions.

For example, in MGS4, snake is old, so revisiting the first game makes me feel sad, he's old, the series is ending, the older games are becoming distant memories, and everything is still in its place, and the flashbacks don't help.

It's very moving, like a movie gone an extra step.

<3

I have, but it's okay because I'm female, although I probably should've just been in the kitchen instead

Seriously though, yes. For example some of the Final Fantasy games are quite emotional.

Also you're off topic. This thread is about Reva eating snowmen.

I hear they are very emotional.

Off topic completely, but I do love games that promote pacificism. Thanks to MGS2, I am generally unable to be physically violent to people or animals.

Splinter Cell, when Sam's daughter dies, I got pretty upset, especially since I had read the books as well.

I cried at the end of Max Payne 2 over Mona's death. I nearly started weeping openly when I played Bioshock and some of the little sisters started saying, "He's the man who hurts us." Damned kids. I think I cried when fighting Piggsy during the first Manhunt game, but that was more of a, "I'm so scared I don't wanna die" type of crying.

So yeah, a few times. Those are just the memorable ones.

They've never made me cry, but I threw a fit one time when playing Halo...
