I was wiring up my strat and it looks like im a complete tard and did it wrong. I threw on an old string to test and see if it works and whenever I touch the string or the bridge or pickups it sounds like it does when you have a cable plugged into an amp and your touching the other end of the cable. So is this a grounding issue and I need to check my ground wire or could this be something that I did with the jack?

something you did with the jack, me thinks.

it seems as if you just got the wires to the jack bass-ackwards.
most likely, you have the wire for the tip connected where the wire for the sleeve goes, and vice-versa.
