Well i've found a Marshall JCM 800 from the eighties for $800. Does this seem like a good deal to you?

Also in this store there are some ampeg amps, a Carvin MTS 3200, some Laneys, a marshall Artist 3203, Mesa Boogie SOB, and Mesa Boogie Studio for around the same price? any of these worth checking out?

Not bad by any means, that's about what they go for. I've seen the heads go for between 600 to 1200 though, depending on the model and condition it's in. Not sure about the combos.

wow... that thing's got some miles on it!

anyways, that sounds like a pretty good price, i don't know much about pricing old amps and what-not, but 800 dollars sounds pretty good for any amp like that...

that's just my two cents, though.

Seems like an alright price for that combo.

Also, check out some of those other amps in the store. Especially that 3203. The 3203 is a hybrid amp, but the good kind. It pairs a solid state preamp with a 30w tube power amp.
AMP:
5150 combo
GSP1101 + Tech 21 PE60

GUITARS:
ESP LTD M-255 w/ SD Full Shred
Kramer Vanguard w/ JE-1000 active preamp

EFFECTS:
Bos SD-1 (boost)
AMT DT-2

what would you recommend? any of the amps mentioned in the original post? or another one? I play classic rock, hard rock, some earlier metal, a tiny bit of more modern metal, and alternative rock

Mesas would be better IMO Mark IV (need a little bit more money). F-50, Some Traynor would be good too. P

idk about that particular JCM800. it doesn't look like it's in very good condition. you should give her a spin first make sure she's working properly.
