yes.. those.. he has a lot of signature gear.. i know he has signiture Overdrive, and amps and stuff.. ask the people at your guitar store.. they might laugh at you for trying to sound like zakk wylde.. because IMHO i think trying to sound like someone is cheesy.. and i think a lot of guitarists do too.. especially someone that "famous"

Definitely his sig overdrive. I've heard lots of great things about it.

eh i've not heard the same
my first impression was that it had too much gain too be a real overdrive

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

well the best place to start would be a les paul with EMGs and a Marshall JCM 800, then chorus and wah and his sig overdrive which, according to interviews, he does use.

But the EMG ans the amp are the most important.

Gear doesn't really matter, just perform a pinch harmonic on every other note.

But if you do want to sound like him more... Go for a higher gain brit voiced amp, an LP with EMG's, his sig overdrive and stuff like that.
Call me Wes.
Gear:
Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat
Chicago Blues Box Roadhouse
Bad Cat Cougar 5
1957 Gibson GA-5
Ceriatone 18w TMB Combo
Hughes & Kettner Tube Factor
Various Ibanez TS9s
Weber MASS Attenuator

yeah that helps a lot too, although sometimes you have to switch it up and play a pinch harmonic every third note.

Like everyone else said, the main things are his signature gear and an LP with EMGs in it. They don't have to be active pickups, although it's better if they are. But I've got the Zakk Wylde Epiphone with passive EMGs in it and I get the right sound when I want it, so it's not a huge deal.

i could be wrong, but i've heard he doesn't actually use the MXR sig overdrive, he uses a boss SD-1 instead. as i said, i could be wrong.

do not fall into the trap of getting the Marshall MG zakk wylde ministack with its "crushing overdrive". its crap and he doesn't use it.
Rig Winter 2017:

Fender Jazzmaster/Yamaha SG1000
Boss TU-3, DS-2, CS-3, EHX small stone, Danelectro delay
Laney VC30-112 with G12H30 speaker, or Session Rockette 30 for smaller gigs
Elixir Nanoweb 11-49 strings, Dunlop Jazz III XL picks
Shure SM57 mic in front of the amp

He stopped using the SD-1 and uses the MXR now.

Get the Marshall MG!!! It's overdrive is crushing!!!!!

GAH Beat me to it...

But seriously, His wah, his overdrive, and a good amp will get you his sound.
Maybe a noise supressot too considering overdriving a tubed amplifier ofter causes feedback like an ocean of emo babies.
