Ibanez with trem, preferably with an all maple neck but not totally necessary. Price range up to $500. Which I don't think is possible. Anything else in this price range better???

C'mon, man. We're just kidding. We all know that drummers are important.

After all, without drummers, who would bag my groceries?

None, they have all have Edge III tremolos, check Ebay, and look for a used Ibanez RG550.

Stick to the Ibanez S series, the ZR trem offers the best tuning stability. The have a locking nut, floating trem, and a zero point system.

Fat mahogany tone, light on the shoulder.
I play one. Can play everything from blues to metal on it, with a couple of pedals of course

Get one.

Agreed.
Edge III trems are pretty crap.
LO-TRS (I think. Not sure) were also fairly poor.
I'm not 100% sure on the last one, so feel free to correct me.
The older, 80s + 90s RGs were really nice guitars with good pickups and nice trems, so if you find one, snap it up.

The S series would be another way to go, unless you can find a second hand RG550 or similar.
Look into them.
