So my birthday is in 3 days, and my parents said I could get a new guitar.
It's between a Standard Strat or a Strat HSS. Both are about $400.

I already have something that is good for the harder sounding stuff (My Ibanez which I just installed a killswitch on).

So I'm going for a sound similar to Weezer's first album.
Which one should I get?

EDIT:
Since everyone is suggesting i get a new amp, this is now a "what amp should i get" thread.
Price range $300-$400

Squier: Afinnity series P-Bass
Johnson: RepTone 15b
Ibanez: GRX20Z
Fender: Frontman

How about a new amp?
Signatures are overrated.

Well sorry.
The Ibanez is a good guitar and should do some other genres well. You may just need a better amp.
Signatures are overrated.

Moe. does have a point....

TS:
Anything is better than a fontman. Just get a cube.

And again, I like my amp.
It fits my needs, and I've gotten a sound I like out of it.........

Fine, I'll get the new amp, since everyone is suggesting i get a new one.

As for the guitar, its actually pretty good. It is comfortable, durable, and has a fairly versatile sound.
Only two complaints about it though.
1. The pickups need adjusting as soon as you get it.
2. Yes the sound is very versatile, but the pickups try so hard to fit every genre that they don't stand out in any specific genre.

Overall: Get it, its durable, it sounds good, and its cheap.
