Would a 14 inch fretboard radius be a nice thin neck that is good for shredding?

im not sure if it has anything to do with the thickness, ud have to look at nut size for that. fretboard radius is the curvature of the board. bigger the radius, the flatter (going from string to string, not head to body).

thinner neck radius (~10) is better for shredding, but you should be able to tell relative to your hand size, so just go try some guitars out

the higher the radius the flatter the curve.

most shredders like a wide flat fretboard, so if anything you'd want a 14 or 16 inch fretboard radius.

it has nothing to do with thickness though, that's a separate thing altogether.

Yeah. people, like Lemoninfluence, are hypocrites and should have all their opinions invalidated from here on out.

So what exactly determines the thickness of the neck?

nut width, unless u mean the acual neck neck, not the fretboard.

you have the width of the fretboard - which is measured at the nut. Generally 1-5/8, 1-11/16, and 1-3/4 inches

and there is the thickness of the neck measured from the back of the neck to the top of the fretboard - in various spots.

and then the radius is the curve of the fretboard
