Ok i am going to America in a few weeks and am planning on buying a new guitar. i currently have an American Stratocaster which is a great guitar but not really suited for heavy metal. I would like a guitar that stands out, doesnt have a generic shape and sounds immense. i am not looking to spend more than around $1000. Here are some that have cought my eye

The only decent guitar on the 'change' list is the Jackson. The Dean Razorbacks are overpriced, muddy pickups, been said over 9000 times before.
The BC Rich is also a turd. Specifically that model. One great steaming turd.

Aye. Dimebuckers are generally very muddy pups. The Jackson seems to be the best one on your list. Have you looked into ESPs by any chance?
Signature? What's a signature?

If an Asian guitar suits his fancy more so than a MIA, then by all means, he should buy an Asian guitar. The fact that he's coming to the USA just means that he can get more for less due to the dollar being worth practically nothing.
I've played plenty of MIA guitars that aren't up to par with foreign-made instruments.
Meaning I've yet to see these "retarded suggestions" you speak of.

If you actually adjust your eq's it is not a muddy pickup.

judging by these 'ranks', I guess you were looking at Gibson guitars.

In that case, it goes (worst --> best)
special --> studio --> standard --> custom

When Gibson calls something "special", it's special in the way a retarded kid is.
#21
As soon as I saw the Deans in your list I said to myself "I bet he's a Dimebag and/or Trivium fan" and I was correct.

Don't get either of those Deans, they're overpriced and will make you look like any other Dimebag/Trivium fanboy.

schecter is american but the guitars are made in korea

but schecter korea is like built in a hidden korea where good guitars come from cause other brands that made in korea suck
#23
look at esp. The ESP LTD AX series (or whatever) is a pretty funky shape. Never played one, so I can't vouch for the sound.

He doesn't have enough for a USA guitar, unless it's used. Plus, I found out that Ibanez and ESPs are more expensive in Japan than in the US...

I'd suggest and LTD, 400-500 series. I have an ESP LTD V-500 and it's just amazing. I've played the EX-400 too and it's of a similarly high quality. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them though, to be honest.
