So here's the deal, me and a couple of friends are deciding to actually form a little group and play together. Nothing like performing live or gigs, but just chilling and jamming. I've been playing guitar for a while now so I'm good, but one of my friends are buying a bass and the other a drum set soon. My question is what are some good beginner's songs that have 1 guitar, 1 bass and 1 drummer. Any suggestions would be great.

ALSO, because one of my friends were asking, can anyone tell me some info on recording ourselves playing? Thanks in advance!

Jam bands are fun as hell man! Trust me, I've been in one for close to a year and a half.

We've got our first gig coming up next month. Just don't let it get too serious and remember that it's about fun, not making it.

Children of Bodom.. theyre SO easy! and Slipknot.. that has 3 members, right?

But seriously, Greenday would probably be best to start out with.

Meshuggah's only easy if you have an 8 string guitar man

Greenday is the best for absolute beginner songs

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

I changed it to Bodom because i realized that Meshuggah isnt hard as long as you have the 8 string.

I was trying to be sarcastic.

Oh yeah, forgot to say Nirvana shouldnt be too diffcult.. maybe a little hard on the drummer though.. since that's the hardest things to play in Nirvana.

Kings of Leon, I'm surprised people have mentioned them already, they surpass Green Day in every aspect possible, except for selling out and being insanely well known.
Also Foo Fighters..........
I love Foxy Shazam more than you.
