Finch egg. FINCH EGG. Now, whilst mowing earlier today, I found a finch egg, very far away from the nest (which was on the ground for some reason). I showed it to my parents, they said it felt kinda heavy. I dunno if it'll even hatch or not, but if it does, how do I care for it? I thought I could probably go buy some worms, chop 'em up, and feed that to it? I didn't want to just leave it there to be stepped on, but I have no idea what to do with it hahaha.

So, anybody ever raised some birds? I googled, also. Help appreciated also, of course.

I don't think it will hatch. But you can try. Get a towel. Wet it with warm (not hot) water. Place the egg on the towel. Get another towel, put it on the egg. Change the towel every 2 hours or so.

Ohh there was another thread just like this the other day. I'll repeat my previous answer, train it to sit on your shoulder, and you can get it to fly and pluck the eyes from your enemies heads.

But yeah, do the worm thing.

Fixed.

Well, it's incredibly hard to care for a newly hatched baby bird because they're incredibly demanding and they get cold easily, best thing to do is keep it under a warm light and give it some SOFT bird food, like mashed bugs or something or you can feed it through a small pipette (sp?)

Just always make sure it's warm and when you can...

EAT IT.

For those saying "EETZ IT", it's barely as large as my thumbnail, man...I can't make an omelet out of that!

...A real man eats a platypus egg.

EDIT: For the record, it was indeed dead. The yolk was all dried.

I don't think it was us, though. It was probably (somewhat) like that when we found it.
But we probably finished it off......

No.
Find me a platypus egg, and I'll eat that though.

Or a liger egg. That'd be cooler
