Well pit...I'm sure you all know of feminism (Gender Equality, for those of you with a smaller vocabulary), so how many of you support it? I am a feminist and believe that women are degraded by our society and are often times subconsciously put into a lower class of society or stereotyping them to do certain things such as cooking and cleaning.

So pit, are you for gender equality?

For those of you who are clueless...this is probably the only picture that will help you recognize what a woman is...

If someone has those...they are a woman, no matter what size.
(For all of those thinking I'm being hypocritical here, tis just a joke for the pit)
I actually do have schizophrenia, so stop making fun of people who have it.

I believe women are of equal standing to men, but feminazi's piss me off.

Porn, stripping etc is not degrading to women. These women do not feel degraded, so how can they say it's degrading?

And they say we have to make allowances for women in society. Women have an easier job getting in the military and the fire service as if the job is less demanding for women. Women should go by the same entry standards as men. In my opinion, the idea that we must make allowances for women is what is truly degrading to women, because it's saying that they aren't equal.

I'm waiting for someone to ask why there isn't an option saying "Women are better than men". Then, the hunt may begin

women are the equal of men. That's it. Even if physically, some jobs are more suitable for men, and some more suitable for women. I still firmly believe in the concept of equality.

I'm all for feminism, for sure. But I hate hyper-feminism where many women no longer want equality, they want superiority. It seems that many feminists have lost their ideal and are just trying to make men second-class. Also it bothers me when I meet a woman who calls herself a feminist but wants all the perks of equality without any of the downfalls. I'm talking about women who want equal pay (which I support) but are completely against being drafted into the military. You've gotta take the good with the bad ladies

I love the idea of feminism, I support Riot Grrl bands and gender equality, but I hate the femenazis around me, and the faux feminists around me who only want equality when it is helpful to them, but when they actually have to do something, then "Oh no! I'm a girl! I donh't do that!"

It's a touchy subject, since no feminists around me are actually into equality.

Yes, women=men. Everyone should leave it at that. I'm really not sure if that makes me a feminist or normal. It seems pretty sad that "feminist" means someone who thinks that everyone is on a more or less level playing field.

I prefer the term "egalitarian" over "feminist." The structure of the word "feminist" always makes me think that it's a prejudice opposite of "chauvinist," regardless of the actual definition and usage.

I've met women who want equal rights, but whenever there is a negative side to it, they don't want that. It pisses me off.

Men are stereotyped too TS. Look at any tv show that portrays a family's life. Is the father not a fat, lazy, tit and the mother the smart one that saves her husbands ass all the time and keeps him in line?

It goes both ways. And women are equal to men (even if they think they're better, they're not. we all are just as horrible in this horrible little world of ours).

Ah, I see how that could be misconstrued.

Revision: Women are equal to men. Not "women are men." Though some come close.

I believe men and women are of equal social status.
Is porn demeaning to women? A lot say yes, but I say no. Ever heard of gay male porn? Is that demeaning to men? Plus the fact that women CHOSE to work in that industry.

I think the problem is that women are becoming more masculine and men are becoming more feminine.

I'm getting sick of this attitude as well. Take for example the movie Knocked Up. Debbie (paul rudd's character's wife) is a total bitch and a horrible spouse. She goes to clubs and is worried whether or not guys there would f]uck her, she freaks out at her husband for things that are entirely out of his control (the sex offenders in the neighborhood), and yet she freaks out that her husband is going to fantasy baseball and seeing movies without her? And then he is expected to change his entire personality just to suit her perfect image of him? What the hell is this? Are men now-a-days expected to bend to women's will? I mean obviously compromises must be made to make a relationship work but it should be equally done.

Another example, Donna and Eric on that 70s Show. Maybe people will disagree with me on this but in my opinion Donna wasn't a very good girlfriend. She expects Eric to be exactly what she wants and she wants him to agree with her on everything and remain loyal like a dog. But when it comes to her, she is completely exempt. She dumps Eric because he gave her a promise ring, she requires Eric to get her permission to go out with his buddies while she remains exempt. She basically puts herself first in every situation and yet she's seen as the perfect girlfriend, Eric made a good move going to Africa, it took long enough for karma to take its toll

He should have the balls to divorce her, or rather not get married in the first place - if I remember correctly, they tied the knot because of a child. Unfortunately, he would be financially raped up the ass by the court system.

One interesting note is that a majority of divorces are initiated by women.
