Many of you have probably heard this.

Today during the fourth round of NHRA qualifying, Scott Kalitta lost his life due to an accident where his car exploded and shrapnel from the engine killed him. I was a fan of his and he will be missed by many.

He died at the track he started drag racing at. If you ask me, he went the way he wanted to. But nobody will ever know now.

The comprehension of what that must have been like... Was he happy? Sad? Did he leave his family with a smile on his face? He probably had no idea what was going on... Just zoomed away, and, BOOM! Gone... Wow... What a horrible way to go.

You know that feeling you get when you accidentally bump a glass of juice and you can see it tipping over and there's nothing you can do to stop it? And you know that in less than a second, it's going to be all over the white carpet?

Yeah, well multiply that by like a hundred thousand. That's how I imagine he felt.

horrible?! that's a brilliant way to go - granted, i don't know how old he was, but still. better than slowly dying of cancer. big explosion is the way to go
