okay so when i was in europe last summer i saw this painting in the louvre, but i didn't get to read anything about it because i was with a group and was already behind, i did however get a picture of it

and i was wondering if anyone knows what it's called, who painted it, anything like that

i'll post the picture in a moment
I caught you walking out the corner of my eye,
My field of vision was only thigh high.
Tried to make my move, but I hit the wall,
Lyin' flat on the floor, you make the call.

No idea - there's far too much in the Louvre though. It's nice, but is photography allowed?

Looks a lot like it has something to do with The Lady of Shalott... (Just a guess) but it does remind of the story.

Im not sure the name, but its probably either 16-17th century European or 18th century German? Is it oil on canvas, or is their real gold used for the halo, ect? That would probably make it 15th century

i'm pretty sure there was no real gold used or it least it didn't appear to be so, like i said i only got to look at it long enough to decide that i liked it and take a picture

also to the photography being allowed and whatnot, i imagine it is, or it might not be allowed but they don't really care, since we had a guide who i guess worked there and our whole group had cameras

Its a piece by Paul Delaroche (1797-1856)

Its called 'La Jeune Martyre' was made in 1855, a year before Delaroches death.

Afraid I dont know anymore than that about this one!
