Title says it all, I've been playing guitar for 2 years, and this summer, I finally decided to learn exactly what I'm playing (not to mention figure out how to solo without pentatonic scales), and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some easy method of memorizing all the notes on the fretboard (specific patterns, etc.).
Thanks in advance

(P.S. I know how to figure out what notes are what, but I want to be able to know them off the top of my head)

Write them down and memorize them on paper. I drew diagrams of the fretboard on my class notes in school and tried to memorize it like that. It shouldn't take too long. Memorize it like you would anything else.

somethign that mgiht help a little bit

starting on the e string the 3rd 5th and 7th frets are G A B

then the 3rd 5th and 7th on the a string are C D E

and the d string is F G A

so its G A B C D E F G on those frets in that order

Dont do what the guy above me posted (lol no offense). It's better if you have to write it out and figure it out yourself.

i did by memorizing a string at a time
6 and 5 you should probably already know without having to try to memorize
4 is basically the notes on 6 two notes up
3 is the 5th string 2 notes up
2 is the 4th string 1 note up
1 is the same as 6

im not that dedicated yet in memorizing strings
but i can name 6 5 and 4 easilly
