Why does everyone think there is such a big difference from playing acoustic to electric?

It's the same thing. They just sound different. If you know something on electric you can play it on an acoustic guitar.

Nothing against the thread starter but that's a question I always ask myself.

action, feel, the body of the guitar is that much closer to your own body, plus, you just feel that much cooler holding an electric.

You might be able to play something on the guitar, regardless of what kind of guitar it is, but it makes a really big difference, at least, in any player I've ever known

acoustic is harder to play that is the only difference as far as playing goes
and by the way the word to use is "an" not "a" when the following word begins with a vowel

Nice, congrats, hoep you enjoy it

@ the maestro - ... are you serious? yes, they're both guitars, but techniques and styles youuse are very different... and yes, you ahve pointed it out arleady, the main difference is how they sound. don't gotta be stupid about it, though.

Leave him be, it's his first electric. Rather learn from mistakes (not that it is) then be perfect about it.
