If he gets some pedals and a guitar with the right pickups, the Tiny Terror can get some good metal tones.

When I say offensive I mean offensive like dressing up as superman in a wheel chair offensive, not penis suit offensive.

Is that last one really tube?
I definitely wouldn't go with that, I'd go with the Bugera, Tiny Terror (but expect to have to use pedals), or keep an eye out for a used 5150?

I'd go with the Bugera out of those, I've never even heard of the third amp.

I think #1 would be too expensive (not completely sure), for #2 he wanted tubes, #3 and 4 are the same amp (although the real name is 6505 for the newer model), and I think they're too expensive new (used it's a good idea), #5 is ok (I've heard good and bad things) but isn't the JSX Satrianis, while the XX is a different amp? Or are they very similar? #6 I've heard a lot of bad things, but some people like it, so I guess if he likes it...

1. Much better metal amps out there then the JCM 800
2. Do you mean the 6505?
3. Doesn't Satch use a JSX?

TS, what's your friends budget? Out of those amps you listed, I would definitely go with the Bugera. However, I would recommend him save up for a used 5150 combo because I've heard mixed reviews about the quality of Bugera amps.
