How are you going to play this?, are you going to play the G string open?
But if so, shouldn't it look like this then?

you'll usualy be required to play it like this

The X's being fret handed mutes, they are known as octave chords.
Both notes are the same on a different octave, just google it people are always confused by these.
On the other hand they may well be finger picked though i doubt it.
