Everyone always says today's music sucks. When really, mainstream music was almost always crap and the best stood above the forgotten pieces of crap put out. And I think 2008 may stand out among years for music.

We got:

Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Weezer, Praxis, Rise Against, The Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails, Buckethead, In Flames, Mindless Self Indulgence, Lil' Wayne, Coldplay, Judas Priest...

And coming later: Beck, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Dr. Dre, Potentially AC/DC and Slayer.

Looks like a good year to me.

Not only do we get Beck later, we get Back produced by Danger Mouse.

Should be interesting... I think a good producer does wonders for a band's sound (look at Coldplay and what Brian Eno did with them, their new album is a breath of fresh air)

Opeth, Slayer, Ikuinen Kaamos, Dream Theater, Cannibal Corpse, Metallica.

I'd say that's good enough for me.

New Judas Priest album, new Pyramaze album, new Iced Earth album, I saw Maiden on the 6th, seeing Priest on July 27th, seeing and meeting Iced Earth on September 22nd, I'd say this year has been, and will be, kick ass.

That sounds like a space filler.... Every year is a great year for Big B.
Plus, 2007 was his greatest year by far. ISOT, Decoding the Tombs of Bansheebot, Pepper's ghost....the list goes on.

People just want to complain, I guess its human nature. Some day we will look back and realize that even though this era has had its fair share of bad music, its also had some truly amazing music.
