I have an electro harmonix metal muff. My cousin used a 23 V adapter with it. The light turned on for a second then went out. Then it started to smell like something was buring. I opened it up and there is a resistor and a couple of capps (not surface mounted) near the power source. I was wondering if the resistor could have acted as a fuse and stopped the IC's from getting fried. Basicly I just want to know if it is fixable.

yeah you might be able to just replace the resistor, worst that can happen is that you'll be out a couple of bucks for the parts.
Its fixable.. Just replace the parts that were fried. Replace the resistor first see what happens then go from there..
Make your dumbass cousin buy a new one.
If your lucky its a few 30 cent resisitors. Still need to kick your cousin in the ass.
