Hey, somebody told me that you can rip the audio from a video from Audacity, but it won't let me import the video it says it can't import it because it's a Windows Media Audio file. And it says "You need to convert it to a supported audio format such as WAV or AIFF."

So...

1.) is it possible to even do what i'm talking about, getting the audio from a video?

2.) and if so, how can i convert the video to one of those formats?

Thanks...

1) Edit --> Preferences --> For recording, select your soundcard.

2) Top right --> Click on the drop down menu for the recording style --> Select "What U Hear."

3) Have your video open in your media player. Click record on Audacity.

4) Press play on your video.

And where it says "Line Volume," in the drop down menu, you will see an option for "What U Hear." Click that one.
