Yeah, it's nothing special really. It seems like they've really tried to make another Losing Streak or Hello Rockview. The whole album kinda passes by without making a real impact, no track really stands out....I actually prefer Anthem to this.

Hope you enjoy it

Haven't we gone over this before?

Less Than Jake =/= ska.

Less Than Jake = pop with brass.

im only a casual LTJ fan. i might check out the new album eventually. if anything ill probably download it. i doubt ill buy it.
#6
ill deffinately be checking this out, i love less than jake alot, cant wait to see them again at leeds festival this year

so less than jake is pop with brass?

wasnt madness? or bad manners? or the specials?

since the 2nd wave ska has always had pop sensibilities, it doesnt take away from their "ska-ness"

Damn right, screw RATM!

I've listened to the album a couple of times now.... it's quite good but there's nothing really stand-out on it. It's better than In With The Out Crowd though, thankgod!

we should make a special forum for bands the punk forum regulars don´t want......

Called The-Punk-and-Ska-Bands-Forum-which-are-not-tr00-enough-or-too-tr00-to-be-liked-by-the-punk-forum-regulars

Banned Bands: Anti-Flag, Less Than Jake, Nofx, Casualties

I also don´t really like LTJ live they are acceptable, but on CD,
and I also disliek Madness......The Specials are different

i am alittle bit gutted about missing RATM, i do like them but tbh i think the main stage is abit crap, i dont really enjoy seeing a band in the kind of environment.

i think less than jake is a much better bet than watching a spec of ratm about a million people deep in a **** crowd, plus the lockup tent is virtually pure gold that day anyways so i dont even have to leave

strange to say less than jake dont belong here and then bands like jawbreaker, husker du and multiple 80's hardcore bands do...

It'll be like the forum of the banned, but for punk and ska forumers.

Also everyone loves the Specials. Everyone.

we listened to the first LESS THAN JAKE 7" the other night... it came out in like '95... it wasn't that bad... it reminded me of HORSE PORN a little bit... then we listened to their ska LP's and they suck so much.

If anyone has that first 7" it can fetch a pretty penny on EBAY by the way, but selling records on EBAY is the lamest of the lame.

Sums it up rather succintly. I'll just add that some of the songs sound like almost carbon copies of all songs; look out for the re-vamped "Short Fuse Burning" and "All My Best Friends Are Metalheads."

It's a good album but trying VERY hard to regain fans that they've lost in the past 6-8 years.

I am a huge LTJH fan, but I must admit that there aren't any classics here, though a few tracks do stand above the rest. All in all it is a valiant effort and much better than In With the Out Crowd. I'm happy with GNV FLA. 3 out of 4 stars.

My friend just bought it and I listened to it quite a bit.
I enjoyed it, definately some decent to good tracks but a few passes as well.

hahaha, I'm just glad it wasnt a 2nd In With The Out crowd. I love them, ever since We're All Dudes from Good Burger. GNV FLA is a step in the right direction, but yeah, a couple tracks are kinda misses, Abandon Ship, Devil In My DNA, and City Of Gainesville, yeah, they are damn good tracks.

Not me.

Yeah, they're alright, but nothing too special in my mind. I don't see why people are always hating on LTJ. Granted, they blur the lines a bit too much between Ska and Punk, just enough so that fans of one genre can dislike them, but still...
#20
It was alright... It wasn't the most amazing thing ever, but It's a good listen.

abandon ship is my favorite song, its the only one that really caught my attention.
#21
i like it.

i think with LTJ, their songs are either excellent, or a bit ****.

on GNV FLA, i think all the songs are good. so i can play it the whole way through, and enjoy it without skipping.
