I am more of an acoustic guitar player, but I have been looking into getting an electric guitar for sometime now, i've even gotten/getting a job.

But i've been looking at websites and I have no idea what I want.

I want something between 600 - 1000 with really nice sound, etc.

And sorry if this is the wrong forum lol, i did'nt know where to put this.

But yeah if you could reccomend some guitars that'd be great.

Thanks.

edit:
I am not a beginner i play guitar, i want something i will be able to have for a long time not just something for beginner players

if you really don't know what you want, I'd try try out a few at your local guitar shop. A nice American Strat for ~1000 is a really nice guitar and is very versatile

i wasn't sure what i wanted
i was thinking more on the sound then what it looked like
but sometimes you get distracted by the more appealing ones on the eyes

I'd recommend a used Standard HSS Strat and a used Traynor YCV50 Blue and a Bad Monkey OD.

Nice suggestion, but Traynors are hard enough to find new, let alone used (at least where I live).

Also, since you are just starting out, I'd say something like an AD30VT and a MIM Strat or Telecaster or a epi Les Paul Standard or a G-400.

DO NOT buy a guitar before you play it.

I do believe Traynors are made in Canada, so I would assume there would be more there.

Blaaaaghh damn canucks. I though there was only maple syrup and grizzlies there

Well, since TS is Canadian, a traynor would work out, but I'd still say Vox.

Well, Traynor FTW! then.

a G-400 or a HSS strat (or even SSS strat) would be nice.

I was also just looking at the Fender Koa Telecaster, its in my price range and from what i hear it's nice, what do you guys think of it?
#17
I heard it's pretty nice. It might not pull off metal that well, but it should function pretty nicely for classic rock.
