I need help with working out and applying time signatures. If someone could give me an example of a song, say a rock song, it would be very helpful. Something simple please
The will be heartache,

It'll be in 4/4. If it's not, and it's not prog or some other such silly technical genre, it'll be in 4/4.
Assuming that's what you mean by time signatures.

Atlanta by Stone Temple Pilots is in 3/4 time

The jazz composition "Take Five", written in 5/4 time

Google is your friend

EDIT: You could use this while practicing.
It's pretty easy 3/4 is 3 quarter beats per measure
5/4 is 5 quarter beats per measure.
Just tap with your foot along to get it right

Listen to a Beatles song song Happiness is a Warm Gun. I think it's on the White Album. It switches regularly between 4/4, 3/4, and 5/4. Plus, it's fun to play on guitar.
