If i get my hands on an amp head or something can i use my combo amp as a cab?

Im guessing i might have to get some rewiring done on the combo so that i can plug the head straight into the speakers as i imagine plugging the head into the input jack of the combo would probably blow it up or something

Would this work?

Bump

Also if this will work what is a good tube head?

Nothing majorly expensive. Something that wont take years to save up for. A used 5150? a used marshall of some kind? Theres a AVT marshall head at cash converters. Any good?

dont bother with marshall solid state amps.

and the combo's speaker needs to match the ohms of the head.

unplug the speaker from the combo. and then attach an input jack directly to the speaker.
and plug a speaker cable from the head, into it.

yeah ohms and make sure you cover the watts.
dont run a large head into a tiny speaker.

unplug the original wires, or you'll fry the combo, and dont even plug the combo into the wall.
you're only using it's speaker.

Ok il make sure to ask the guitar tech guy about it.

EDIT: Say i get a 100 watt head. Can that work through 100 watts ( 75 watts stereo) without blowing?
