Now, I'm gonna have to say Alexi Laiho. Criticize if you want, but the truth remains, so; in Children of Bodom's category of music (That is, Melodic-Death metal, although they insist that they're Power metal), his voice is top-notch. Along with Laiho, I'd also have to say Petri Lindroos, of Norther. Also, I suppose I'd throw in Jari Mäenpää of Wintersun. Yeah, the bands are relatively similar, but I like the scream that they produce, despite their regular voices. Alexi's voice is the only one of the three whose voice sounds even remotely like his normal voice. As much as I love Alexi's screaming, I'm gonna have to say Pete.

Laiho sucks, in all categories.

Anyways, I'm gonna have to go with Mikael Akerfeldt, Shamaatae, and Ihsahn.

But, that's screams...so, I can't give a good growl impression for this thread .

I would say yes.

I can do more than five scales, three classical ripoffs, random sweep-tapping, and chugging.

Yes, I can.

It's not hard, and the only thing Alexi has over me (and, mostly anyone) is popularity.

Laiho doesn't play technical stuff while he sings.

And similiar looks to Avril Lavigne.. And black nail polish

Neither are good things, and as cliff pointed out, Laiho doesn't exactly play the most difficult stuff...

I'd hope I can play stuff like that whilst singing if I can pull off some Necrophagist songs...

i like CoB, but alexi's screams sound like he's choking on something

i really like corpsegrinder's screams in frantic disembowelment
#31
Hey, Alexi is way hotter than Avril. I'm sorry, my girlfriend forced me to say that.

/cover up

Anyways, why is thread still alive? It was filled with the very essence that makes metal, gay.

Ahem, Slipknot and A7X. Need I say more? Frankly, i'm shocked.

I'm also Jon. Nice to meet you.

EDITIRINO: I agree with dminishedthingy, Corpsegrinder's screams are good in that song...On the topic of CC..

Does anyone else HATE those high pitched screams that Chris Barnes does?
#32
The "squeals?"

Barnes from 1988-1992 was good, from '93 onwards he started to suck.

By 2000 he is the worst "true" death metal vocalist.

Goredit: Notice how the only time he was good was when he was trying to clone Chuck Schuldiner's vocals?

HE was good during Tomb of the Mutilated, but then sucked afterwards.
