Anyone else notice that the distortion on the pvc 30 can be quite harsh at times if pre-amp is turned all the way up. Especially noticeable with bad EQ settings, but sometimes I have trouble dialing in a good heavy distortion tone. Its probably not built for that I guess.

Modest amounts of overdrive on the other hand sound beautiful through the thing (bluesy-rock tone) though even those can get harsh if I turn the post too high - maybe its just me.

yeah its not really meant for a lot of distortion, thats why i bought a metal muff for the clean channel

i'm not a big fan of using the preamp on mine. it could be just the tubes sounding mediocre, but I'd rather play with a distortion pedal on the clean channel
