Just buy a decent set of car speakers for about the same price and wire them up in place of the stock ones.
Also a £10 FM transmitter worked wonders for me

If you have a tape deck....then there are devices that plug into your headphone jack on your ipod and the tape goes into your tape deck(obviously)

You can get a decent set of 6 x 9's for aobut the same price as those speakers, so go for that.

If you are insisting on buying the computer speakers though, they won't drain the battery cos i assume they won't be on all the time.

The problem with using computer speakers is that you have to check they run on the same voltage as you're car battery, usually 12 volts. Otherwise you're gonna have a problem on your hands.

Edit: Whay are you asking on a guitar forum....=s
There are plenty of specialised car stereo forums out there on the internet

no kidding.. just get some good 6x9's and i'm betting you could find a good sub on craigslist
for cheap.

i'm unsure of what kind of wattage you'd need for a car stereo. i remember a buddy of mine had 2x12's in his truck plus a couple of 6" drivers. and whenever the sub hit really hard, the drivers would lose power and sort of sound like a wierd hyperventilation of blastbeats.

more power to the amp would have fixed this i'm assuming.. or smaller subs.
