with the emgs with coil taps, untapped, are they the same exact thing as a non-tappable emg? like, is an untapped emg 81tw or 707tw the same thing as a regular 81 or 707 until you tap it?

alright, thats basically what i was getting at. thanks a lot. so the new schecter hellraiser series is the same exact thing but the new ones have coil taps? or will the full humbucker sound be different?

The 81TW is exactly like the 81 I used to have, and the 89 is like the 85 in humbucker mode. So, yes it is and no it won't sound different.

sick looking axe, i was planning on buying the c-7 hellraiser because 7 strings are badass first of all, and second of all, schecters are some of the most comfortable guitars i have ever played, chunky, but not too chunky. and thanks for the help, also
