I was looking for songs that can only be described as epic... Like Fin by Anberlin, Make this go on forever by Snow patrol or The decline by NOFX. Any genre.

Let's hear them.

If by "clean" you mean "get a finger right up in there and do a good bit of spelunking" then i guess "at any given opportunity" is my answer.

why has everyones definition of "epic" been so basterdized , it frustrates the **** out of me when people call things that are "good" , "epic".

It has a meaning people , and it certainly isnt something good , or above average.

You ever heard muse? What about queen or iron maiden? There's plenty of epic music out there.
Then you have pink floyd, which are epic on a global scale.

Why must you bastardise the word bastardise? You're from Cambs FFS!

It's all based on opinion. Just because you don't define a song as epic doesn't mean everybody else can't.

I think your confusing "very good" with "epic" go read the Iliad or the Odyssey by Homer , or the Aeneid by Virgil , those are works that are the true meaning of Epic.

Just because you define a song as epic doesnt mean it is.
Your using the entirely wrong word for what your describing , so keep defending your usage of it , it doesnt make it right.

GOOD DOES NOT = EPIC.
EPIC = EPIC.

Go read a dictionary.

What some people see as good, others see as epic, and vice versa. Take Ben Hur for example. Some people think it is epic, some do not. It's a matter of ****ing opinion, OK?

I actually agree with you on the overuse of 'epic,' but I think think this thread meant songs that actually fit the definition - that is, you know, something very grand, so I don't see why you bring that up here.
