I am building a new guitar and Im wondering what a good combo for heavy metal pickups would be. I've seen the Dimarzio Evolution's and the x2n's but I just need some advice. And by the way, I live in Canada.

Gotta know a few things:

- Budget?
- Body wood on the guitar?
- Heavy metal only, or some versatility (e.g., cleans)?
- Active, passive, or no preference?
- Amp?

it comes down to personal preference, plus the metal sound has more to do with the amp than the pick ups.

wait, let's not ask his amp cause he's building a guitar, if i am correct.
i prefer the Duncan Custom, JB or Livewire for metal. DiMarzio X2N or D-Activators.

Ah, good call. Missed that. A set of Dimarzio Breeds would be good.

Dimarzio Breeds are good also.
