could someone please tell me the right way to pronounce "Yngwie", I've been calling him 'ing-wee' but I'm not sure if that's right.

I say "Yin - we".

"Y" as in "Yes".

EDIT: It IS pronounced, apparently, as /ˈɪŋveɪ ˈmɑːlmstiːn/.

That's the way I've always heard him pronounce it when introducing himself.

From his website:
Q. How do you pronounce Yngwie's name?
A. The Americanized pronunciation is "ING-vay".

Ing-Vey Malm-Sten

I don't understand why he doesn't use his real name Lars Lannerback.
#22
Its an americanized version of of the swedish name Yngve. Which is a REALLY lame name if you live here. But since he is so cool it's now officially cool (again?) to be named Yngve. Atleast to Guitarists.

Because he's so rock n' roll yeah!
