This thread isn't only for people officially diagnosed with OCD. Anyone who has something that bothers them a bunch and can NOT stand it until it is fixed is welcome to post it here.
#2

My CDs and DVDs.

CDs have to be alphabetical by artist, then albums by the same artist in chronological, and compilations at the end, also in alphabetical.

DVDs have to be alphabetical, with music DVDs at the beginning also alphabetical.

I used to have arrangement for my CDs, and was quite particular about it, but I've got so many that I really cba to sort them again. Still, I'll end up doing it over the summer, probably.

I have a rug with these little tassles at the edge and I always need them poking neatly out of the rug, not messed up. Other than that, I'm not really obsessive about anything. I used to be much more than I am.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

when i go to bed, i have to make sure, the pc, camera, tvs and mobile are all off.
i find myself getting up once or twice each night, pressing a button over and over that would make the screen illuminate or something, and making sure that the standby buttons on the tv and pc aren't on.
just to make sure it's off.

Well that goes without saying And all my music has to be arranged in folders by album, then artist. And they all have to be correctly tagged.

Oh yeah, I have all of that. And I have to have the album artwork for everything. And I have to have all the songs for a specific album, even if I only like a few, otherwise they go in my "Misc" album, because I don't want lots of random 1-track albums in my library.

In fact, just yesterday we had to write what we thought about a subject (can't remember what it was) and I just went around the board and corrected everyone elses' grammar.

Mine's only 68 songs, but there are a few not in my iTunes or that I've tagged onto the end of another album by the same artist as a bonus track. Which I have to have bracketed, for some reason. Also, because I don't want the misc album in the middle of my iTunes, I titled it ZZZ-Misc so alphabetically it's near the end. And it's Various Artists for Album Artist, so it goes to near the end no matter what.

Only thing I can think of is my iPod has to have the correct information. As in, how to spell names, none of that 04, 05 thing. No more than artist file for one band.

I actually have OCD. It's not fun, because I'm always afraid of whatever illogical thing I'm afraid will happen at the time is going to happen, so I have to do these little rituals to make the thoughts of it go away, but they always come back. It's not nearly as tormenting as it was when I was younger, though.

I love the way people think having OCD is about organising their music...

I know people who have to breathe in sets of 4, walk in steps of four, can't have different foods touching each other, people who can't drive in certain cars that have certain numbers on the license plate.

OCD is only classed as OCD if it's debilitating, and slows you down in everyday life.

Hate to use you as an example, but like Holy Katana

It's not a problem. I know I have a textbook case of it.

I tend to pull the "arrange your cash, bigger bills in back, stripper cash up front" deal in my wallet.

Other than that...not really. An organized iTunes just makes sense to me.

I'm convinced it's human nature to hold "OCD" about things to acute levels.

It's when it greatly affects your life you need to seek medical advice.

When my arm pits are exposed I get nervous. I mean extremely nervous. Which basically means that I can't really stretch in public, or spend a long time reaching for something before suddenly pulling my arms back down.

I'm not sure, but it might have something to do with my brother always tickling me there when ever they were exposed during the first 14 years of my life.

There are two types of OCD really, those who like routine and order, and OCD in which you obsess about any particular event, or what might happen.

I suffer from the later in which when driving I consatnly think about crashing, or if Im walking next to a river or pool, I obess myself about what were to happen if I were to jump in. My legs go all shakey.

Sometimes I cant use a knife because I'm frightened I may stab myself to see if it hurts.

You can laugh all you want, but seriously, it isnt funny.
