Whats this about the crate palomino v16, is it no longer sold in stores? Is the crate v-series basically the same thing? I love the sound of those palomino v16s but would a v18 be basically the same?

Basically, but I think the V series is more american voiced compared to the british voicing of the Palominos.

can you still buy palominos anywhere?

Crate discontinued them, and I think they used the Blackhearts to replace them. You can still find Palominos around, you just have to look.

so the normal v-series would still be a good choice for a cheaper tube amp, classic rockwise?

A very good choice for a budget classic rock amp. I thought the cleans were very good too.
I wondered why the frisbee was getting bigger, then it hit me.
