I have a epiphone 1966 g-400 sg (epiphone S.O.R. sg). i need to install new pickups, but i cant get the pickgaurd off. i unscrewed it but the two things that the pins pins that hold the the bridge (the pins that adjust the intonation) screw into are above the pickguard (the top of them), thus i cant get the pickgaurd off. has anyone ever had this problem before? can i get some advise????

sounds like you'll have to take the bridge off and unscrew the pins. I'd use a marker or something to mark on them the height they are at some I could get it back around the same when I put them back on.
You misspelled "pickguard".
no i mean the two things that the pins screw into. i removed the bridge and the "intonation adjusters" but the things that they screw into are above the pickguard thus locking it in place. i need to know how to take those out
You have one of the G-400's with a "bat-wing" style pickguard? The large one that covers most of the front of the guitar?
