Both of these cost around the same price, which one is better for the money? I've heard that the quality of Elitists rival Gibsons. Is that true?

No, The Quality of the Elitist Surpass the Gibsons.

Go for the Epiphone.

I would go with the Epi. I owned a Gibson Studio and i wasnt' impressed. Only buy the Gibson if you can afford to get the classic or standard. The studio's aren't that great. I even like the Epi standard much more than the Gibson studio.
