So I have a Fender Blues Deluxe amp. The amp does include a drive channel. I also have a line 6 pocket pod that has many different preset fx's. Would it even be reasonable to buy an overdrive pedal? I know that it would give me a quicker way to turn on and off the overdrive effect with the pedal, but i also have a clean to drive channel switch pedal so i can switch between my clean and dirty sounds on the fly. What do you think?

a good overdrive pedal (like a TS808, Maxon OD-9, etc.) will probably sound alot better than either the pod or the drive chanel of thye amp (which I have never liked)

I would try an od pedal and compare that to the drive channel and see what sounds best to you. With guitars there is nothing that is unreasonable.
