After a short search on UG for threads concerning this Canadian band from the 1980's all I manged to find were threads concerning Spoon, an entirely different band from a different country and different era. That being said, I do like Spoon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoon_%28band%29), but this thread is about Spoons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoons_%28band%29).

I'm not 100% sure as to whether or not this thread belongs in the Alternative/Indie subfrom, but it seemed to be the most appropriate place to put it.

This paragraph is really quite useless, but it's a small explanation of how I discovered these guys. Alright, so my uncle is moving out of his house and into my grandma's where a bunch of my dad's stuff was being stored including all his old albums and a few record players so my father and I spent some quality time last night hooking up one of his record players so I could listen to some of his old albums. So I listened to a few albums by some artists I wasn't familiar with (such as The Waterboys and Simple Minds) and I stumbled upon a few albums by Spoons and was intrigued by the name immediately because it was so similar to Spoon.

Anyways, after listening to Talkback by Spoons I thought it was pretty good and I decided to make a thread about them to see what everyone else thinks of them. I've got another album sitting around here somewhere and I'll give my opinion on that album after I give it a listen.

I would classify them as being an 80's New Wave band, so if you're into that check them out.
