As the title explains I'm going to buy a new amp. I've got my mind set to getting either a 75 Watt Randall RX Series RX75R for $250 or a 65 Watt Crate FlexWave Series FW65 for $300. I own a Mako Hammerhead and the style of music I play varies but fits around the categories of Hard Rock, Thrash Metal, and Heavy Metal. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Both are starter amps that would probably do the job, depends on if you are wanting to use on-board effects, or have pedals.

Anoter amp to check out if you can is the Peavey Bandit, found it to be a bit better than the Randall myself, give them a try and see which one sounds right to you.

In that range, for those styles, either a Valveking or a Cube 60x

I'd stretch your budget and look into a Cube or a VK.

get a cheap marshall... my MG15DFX has a button that simulates the sound of one of the expensive tube marshall amps.

But I had two smilies, which canceled out the two commas.
